Brassica oleracea var botryis
Violet sicilian has a milder and sweeter taste than white cauliflower. Its high mineral content accounts for its rosy-violet coloured florets. It's easy to grow and has a fine texture and tasty flavour. It looks like a cross between broccoli and cauliflower and can be used in any recipe that calls for cauliflower. Freeze any excess.
